Ashwini Ramesh
I’m an infectious disease scientist uncovering ecological solutions to epidemiological problems. I'm fascinated by a compelling puzzle that bridges ecological theory and public health outcomes: the maintenance of pathogen diversity. My work advances how a niche framework of pathogen coinfection can create powerful new explanations both within and outside of hosts thereby offering new solutions to public health interventions. I integrate ideas across disciplines of consumer-resource theory, immunology and clinical data to study the causes and consequences of coinfection.

I'm an incoming G Evelyn Hutchinson Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University. Previously, I was an IBEEM and Presidential Postdoc at MSU. I completed my PhD at the EEB Program at Indiana University, Bloomington and BS-MS at IISER, Pune. My heart is rooted in my hometown Bangalore, forever and always.
